New Victory Theater Public Spaces

New York, NY
H3

Renovations to the public spaces at the family oriented New Victory Theater in New York's Times Square included improvements in the ticket, street level, and mezzanine lobbies, and two all new lobby spaces in the basement. The overall goals were to add sparkle and brightness to the spaces, new and old.

The ticket lobby welcomes patrons with a dazzling canopy of hundreds of points of light that change color and intensity, while the street level lobby has a new mural consisting of variations on the theater's new logo, which is bathed in light.

The first lower-level space, LuEsther's Lobby, has new benches, bathrooms and retail, and the entire north wall is a video display. The lighting consists of points of light at the column capitals and on the face of the soffit, providing both illumination and excitement.

The second lower-level space, Jack and Lew Rudin Lobby, is the new home to pre- and post-show activities for children and their adults. "With the new lobby, we can accommodate more audience members simultaneously. With more sophisticated tools to support our content, more ushers dedicated to playing with families and a teaching artist in the lobby before every single show, we're striving to create a truly interactive space for you to engage as a family before and after every single performance."
